ARE YOU READY. 2024/25 FRESHMEN, WE ARE READY TO RECIEVE YOU AT KUCC.
Welcome Note to our New Students: the freshers 2024/2025.
Praise be the Lord Jesus Christ!
Welcome to Kenyatta University! Welcome Christ the Teacher Catholic Chaplaincy. Welcome to the Kenyatta University Catholic Community (KUCC). It is with great joy that I extend a warm greeting to you as you begin this new chapter of your academic, social, emotional and spiritual journey. On behalf of the Catholic Chaplaincy, I want you to know that this community is your spiritual home, a place where you can find support, fellowship, and growth.
At Kenyatta University we are privileged to have four Chaplaincies at the Directorate of Student Affairs. 1. The Muslim Chaplaincy. 2. The Seventh Adventist Chaplaincy. The Protestant Chaplaincy and & 4. The Catholic Chaplaincy.
Let me highlight some dimensions of the Catholic Chaplaincy:
- Spiritual Nourishment: Our Catholic Chaplaincy is a place where you can deepen your relationship with God through the celebration of the sacraments, prayer, adoration and reflection. As Saint John 15:5 reminds us, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in them, they bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.”
- Community and Belonging: Here, you will find a supportive and inclusive community. We encourage you to build friendships and find comfort in knowing that you are not alone in your journey. As we are reminded in Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
In fact, our clarion call here at KUCC is # fom ni kubelong; na kubelong to kuparticipate.
I encourage you all to belong to a Small Christian Community and the many spiritual groups domiciled at the chaplaincy.
- Service and Outreach: Inspired by Christ’s love, we are committed to serving others and making a positive impact in our community. Matthew 25:40 says, “Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”
- Personal Growth: Through our various programs and activities, we aim to support your personal development and spiritual growth. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
