Acolytes group is a spiritual group under Kenyatta University Catholic Community. Our main obligation is to help the priest in celebrating the holy mass at the holy alter, among others; which includes preparation of mass and taking care of our vestments and all sacramental used during the mass celebration and any other material placed under our care. The group is also committed to holistic growth of its members through its programs and engagements.

Families (subgroups)
The group has three subgroups (families) – Western, Eastern and Nyayo.
The groups helps the members in sharing the word of God, which is key in helping spiritual growth of members. The families meet weekly in individual members’ area of residences while the whole group meets on Saturdays at the church from 3:45 pm
Western family comprises of all students who reside to the western part of the university. Nyayo family consists of all students who reside to the Nyayo zone plus those reside at km. Eastern family is comprised of all those who reside to the eastern part of the university and all those who live at Kahawa Sukari and any other place not included in the above groups.

Membership
The acolytes group is comprised of both KU students and non-students who are members of the Kenyatta university catholic community. It is an open group to all catholics who are partakers of the Holy Communion. In joining one is required to pay a one-time registration fee and there after subscription fee per semester.
Activities
The group normally have several activities like team building; to help the members in social life , charity works to the society; to help the less fortunate.
Other activities of the group include helping the society through acts of mercy like charity works among others. The membership is open and voluntary and any person is welcomed to join us to continue in evangelizing through service.
