WHAT A DAY TO VENTURE INTO THE WORLD OF FIRST AID SKILLS. A GLIMPSE OF FIRST AID TRAINING 2024.
We thank God for giving us the chance to conduct a first aid training at KUCC. We also give our sincere gratitude to our own chaplain for ensuring that we are trained as first aider. We are very grateful to our facilitator Dr. Mwaura for creating his time and accepting the call and having us trained. In collaboration with the first aid team,the CJPC committee ensured that the activities are well conducted and everything went on as planned. We also thank the KUCC members for availing themselves for the training.
The first aid topics were well conducted having a professional pharmacist in our midst and Dr for that matter, the topics were practically demonstrated. Starting with the nose bleeding all the way to the CPR .
I really loved the way CPR and the choking were done, explanations with a series of practicals made the session lively. The cooperation of the members enhanced successful practical. The major issue being that gender should be an obstacle that makes one not conduct first aid to a victim of the opposite gender, remember you are a first aider and you will always be. Another thing to ensure that you’re conversant of is that just do what you as a first aider don’t go to an extend of creating another emergency to the victim.
Finally, members I encourage you to attend events planned by the parish because they give you the opportunity to learn and as well network and interact with new people.

Also the topics that members asked questions from i.e fractured arms/legs, drowning, food poisoning and accidents, should be given greater weight in the forthcoming trainings to give the members the leeway to tackle any emergency they encounter. The CPR should remain as a constant.
