The social life committee is headed by the social life secretary with the help of his/her assistant. He/she is the publicity secretary of the parish pastoral council. The committee is in charge of organizing and running all social life events of the parish which are meant to bring all parishioners together to have fun. The group is made up of:
- Social life secretary and his/her assistant
- and Mrs. KUCC
- Publicity secretaries of SCC’s and other parish groups
- Other passionate permanent members
The objectives of the committee are:
- Enhance team building among parishioners
- Foster unity among members from different backgrounds
- Carry out social life events successfully
- Nurture talents among parishioners
The committee organizes the following events:
- FRESHER’S NIGHT
This is an event where we usher in first year students in our parish, give them an opportunity to interact with other parish members and leaders and delegate SCC’s to them. This event creates awareness to all freshers about KUCC. They are also given an opportunity to show case their talents and introduce themselves to the parishioners.
- OCTOBER MADNESS
This event happens at the mid of the semester. Student parishioners gather together and get to interact through games, dancing, modelling and other activities as planned by the committee. The event enhances teambuilding among parishioners, nurtures talents and fosters the social well-being of parishioners.
- CAROL’S NIGHT
This event prepares us for the Christmas season and students come to party together. Christmas songs, gifts and decorations are dominant. Various groups and SCC’s are given an opportunity to present.
- PARISH CENSUS
This event is carried out every academic year to determine the population of parishioners and their information. Some of the data collected include names, phone number, Jumuiya and church group of membership, residence, home diocese, home parish and the number of sacraments (baptism, first Holy Communion, confirmation) received.
- TALENT SHOW
This is a parish event where students and different groups show case there talents. The event is majorly crowned by models and we finally get the Mr. and Mrs. KUCC each academic year. Different talents are also recognized such as dancing, spoken words, singing and narratives. The event ends with the photo session and cake cutting ceremony led by the Mr. and Mrs. KUCC.
- ELDER’S BASH
This is a farewell party for our elders who comprise of final year students. The event is an opportunity to interact socially and also bid farewell to the parish elders. They are given an opportunity to present and give words of advice to those left.
