Social life committee

Social Life is a committee in the Kenyatta University Catholic Community. It is under the leadership of the parish Social Life Secretary. The committee comprises vice secretaries from all SCCs and groups, Mr. & Miss KUCC as well as volunteer members. The slogan is ‘Kujibamba na Kristu Mwalimu,’ which means ‘Having fun in and with Christ the Teacher’. They meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm in the church compound mostly in the Small Finance room in the Parish office.

The main role of the committee is to plan all the fun events in the parish with the purpose of bringing parishioners together and attracting the population which includes mostly young people to know that they can have fun in the church too as well as interact and learn a lot.

During the academic year 2022/2023, they were able to organize the following events; Freshers’ Orientation 03/09/2022, Parish Census 18/11/202, Freshers’ Night 23/09/2022, October Madness 15/10/2022, Christmas Carols 25/11/2022 & Talents’ show 10/02/2023. They take pride in the good work that they put in preparation and carrying out these events which were a success.

The committee is also in charge of the parish Theatre Club which is used to help the parishoners identify their talents and learn how to get better by providing platforms for them to perform. The committee also oversees the work of the beam editorial committee which is in charge of the catholic show that airs on KU FM on Sundays from 7-9 AM.
