Good Friday 2020
This is the day to contemplate Jesus Christ who obeys upto death on the Cross at Golgotha. Jesus became incarnate and now this body is the one that is tortured, scourged, crowned with thorns, carries the Cross, undergoes crucifixion and death. Jesus willingly embraces his passion and even forgives us our sins. “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing”.
Today we are invited to increase our faith and venerate the wood of the Cross. The Cross has now become a symbol of Victory and not shame. By undertaking acts of repentance as Christians we re-unite ourselves with Jesus.
As we pray for the defeat of COVID-19 pandemic let us “not fear and remain strong in faith. Let us make today and tomorrow Holy Saturday days of silent prayer in our homes. Pray the Way of the Cross and begin the Novena of the Divine Mercy Chaplet today.
Blessings.
